Stationery Tools Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Amanzi Connexions (Pty) Ltd (“we”, “us”, or “our”) processes information when merchants install Stationery Tools and shoppers use its product-customization features. It applies to the Shopify app, its embedded administration pages, hosted customizer, previews, and related services. It is intended to comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) and other applicable data-protection laws.

1. Our role

A merchant controls its store and customer relationship. For shopper designs and order information, we generally process data for that merchant to provide the service. We independently control limited merchant account, support, security, and service-operation information.

The responsible party for information we control is Amanzi Connexions (Pty) Ltd, 211 Snyman Road, Boksburg South, 1459, South Africa.

2. Information we process

• Merchant and store data: shop domain and identifiers, app authorization records, settings, product mappings, subscription entitlement, and support communications.
• Design and artwork data: customization settings, uploaded artwork, generated previews, placement textures, and production-reference files.
• Product and order references: Shopify product, variant, order, and line-item identifiers, plus quantity and the design associated with each customized line.
• Technical data: request metadata, timestamps, security events, and diagnostic logs processed by us and our hosting providers.

The normal customization workflow does not request customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, or postal addresses. Shopify privacy requests can contain identifiers needed to locate the relevant order records; we use them only to fulfil that request.

3. Why we process it

We use this information to run the customizer, save and display designs, connect a design to the correct cart and order line, provide fulfillment downloads, manage subscriptions and installation, secure and troubleshoot the service, answer support requests, and comply with legal and Shopify platform duties.

4. Sharing and service providers

We share information only as needed with the merchant, Shopify, and contracted infrastructure providers, including Vercel for application hosting and private object storage and Prisma Postgres for database services. These providers process information to operate the service. We do not sell personal information, use it for behavioral advertising, or make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

5. Storage and retention

Unsold designs are deleted after 90 days. Designs and artwork linked to orders are deleted 24 months after the most recent linked order. Uninstalling the app immediately prevents new use, but existing order artwork remains available during its retention period so a merchant can fulfil prior orders if the app is reinstalled. A valid Shopify shop-redaction request permanently deletes the shop's remaining records and private artwork. Backups and provider logs may persist briefly according to provider recovery and security cycles before being overwritten.

6. Security and international processing

We use HTTPS in transit, private managed storage, Shopify-authenticated merchant access, shop-scoped access controls, signed customer-facing requests, and restricted production credentials. Information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate, subject to their contractual safeguards and applicable law. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

7. Privacy rights and requests

Shoppers should normally contact the merchant from whom they ordered because the merchant controls the customer relationship. We process Shopify's mandatory data-access and deletion webhooks and assist the merchant with applicable access, correction, deletion, restriction, withdrawal-of-consent, or objection requests. We may need to verify the requester's identity. Merchants can contact us directly at store@amanziconnexions.com, and we aim to respond within 30 days.

8. Cookies and similar technology

Shopify and the embedded app use essential session and security technology to authenticate merchants, preserve authorized app navigation, and prevent abuse. Our hosted customizer may use essential browser storage required to complete a customization. We do not use this data for behavioral advertising. A merchant's storefront may use additional cookies under that merchant's own policy.

9. Children

Stationery Tools is a business service for merchants and is not directed to children. Merchants are responsible for ensuring their storefront and use of the customizer comply with age and consent laws that apply to their customers.
